Never Alone

We are an English-speaking meeting in the Avenidas Novas area of Lisbon, a few minutes' walk from the Gulbenkian museum. This specific meeting is called “Never Alone” because there is nothing more powerful than having a community of people who are there for each other. We are simply a community of addicts in recovery who meet regularly to share our joys, struggles, and experiences with each other. We are looking forward to welcoming you into our community!

The meeting

Read this before you set off

The meeting is not held inside the church. It is held in the building adjacent to the church. The entrance is adjacent to the church, near the rear of it.

Once you're inside, the meeting is on the second floor.

Open and closed meetings

A closed meeting is for people who think they may have a problem with drugs. An open meeting is for anyone — partners, parents, friends, students, professionals. Every Thursday is marked above, so you can see before you come. If you're unsure which one applies to you, email and ask rather than staying away.

If this is your first one

You don't have to speak

Plenty of people sit through their first few meetings without saying a word. Listening is taking part. If you'd rather not give your name, don't.

There's nothing to pay or sign

No dues, no fees, no membership, no records. A basket goes round for the room's own costs and it's fine to pass it on.

Come a few minutes early

Arriving around 19:20 gives you time to find the right door and settle in. We have an official greeter to help you find your way!

The only requirement

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using. That's it — not a clean date, not a diagnosis, not certainty that you belong here.

There is an English-speaking meeting somewhere in the area six days a week. If Thursday doesn't work for you, one of these will.
